il Ristorante Italiano - Pastahouse

This is us today - after 3 ½ years of our opening in 2002.
A lot has changed in this time:
Originally a restaurant with a selection of 15 pasta dishes, a choice of house wine red, white or rosé and simple IKEA – tables over the Trattoria Pastahouse, there was an opportunity to extend and we moved on to become the il Ristorante Italiano – Pastahouse, offering:
- A distinctive bill of fare;
- A gourmet 5 course menu which changes every two weeks;
- A wine-list comprising approximately 65 wines;
- An olive oil and vinegar menu to make dressing your salad a special experience.

In 2006 we once again received the distinctive honour “Member of “F.I.C. 2006”.
The fact that we have been able to reach this point is down to you and your desire to enjoy a genuine Italian kitchen. You requested more from us and we listened and tried to accommodate your wishes. We would like to thank you, because if after four years the same guests praise our Lasagne or love our Tagliatelle Ragú (Bolognese), it is evident that in the long term quality is paramount. Our “Pasta” has stayed and 2 years’ ago we improved and refined to become “Pastahouse Pizza”. Our wish is that our guests enjoy a small spectrum of the '”traditional Italian kitchen”, and our aim is to provide a culinary experience which will tingle your taste buds.
We have also lost guests over the years, when we have had to say no to a request for a pasta with cream sauce, a four cheese sauce, a Carbonara with cream or, even worse, with Penne (Macaroni) – dishes which our kitchen are simply unable to comprehend. The traditional Italian kitchen has principles and rules, which we adhere to. There are only two authentic sauces; ragú and tomato. The rest of the cooking process is carried out as required at that moment, and each pasta dish has its own individual preparation method!
The ambience of the restaurant focuses,
...on providing a comfortable atmosphere for our guests. There is a roomy seating arrangement in the large dining area as well as smoking and non-smoking areas.

Elisa, a full blood Italian who has for years been a member in the most important federation of Italian chefs “F.IC. Federazione Italiana Cuochi “, with 20 years’ culinary experience in Italy. She writes the rulebook for the classic Italian kitchen.
Rodolfo, half Italian and responsible for the selection and purchase of wines, and service.
